The main character of this novel is Celie and it just talks about her and she is writing letters to god and i think that her personality is very nice and she likes to stand up for her self and others that she cares for i think that she has changed becuase she is a stronger person.

This novel is about Celie and tells about how she is growing up and what her life is changing it tells about what she is going through with her life and what is going on around her and tells you what kind of person she is it also tells about her sisters life and how she is changing and tells about how life was back then

The story takes place in Celie's house and in her town the setting is at her house and it adds to the novel becuase it helps you to know what is going on in the book the location does relate to ther character and the theme the time period is when people still worked in the cotton fields

I think that the climaz of the novel occured when Celie got married to Mr. _____ becuase that is when she started to chang and that is when everyone started to interact with eachother and that is when Celie's little sister Nettie got married too another climax is when Celie told Netties husband to hit her when she didnt liesten to him.

I think that the author wrote this stroy to make a point to telll people know that there are some very strong people in this world the theme of this story is about all of the strong women that there were back then.

I would rate this novel a 9 becuase it had a lot to say about how she was growing and what she was doing to make herself stronger i would recommend this novel because it is a good book.

One scene is when Sofia ands Harpo fight I think that if the book had it in Sofia's point of view it would be in more detail because she is the one that is beating up Harpo then they go to talk to Celie and Sofia got mad at her because, Celie told Harpo to beat up Sofia if she didn't do what she said and Harpo tried to hit her then Sofia ended up beating up Harpo.

In the scene when they talk about Sofia having to work in the prison laundry."All day long from five to Eight she washing clothes. Dirty convict uniforms, nasty sheets and blankets piled way over her head. us see her twice a month for half a hour. Her face yello adn sickly, her fingers look like fatty sausage." I like the way that they talk about the sheets and talk about the blankets.

"Harpo no better at fighting his daddy back than me. Every day his daddy git up, sit on the porch, look out at nothing. Sometime look at the trees out front the house. Look at a butterfly if it light on the rail. Drink a little water in the day. A little wine in the evening. But mostly never move." I think that this shows that Sofia is the boss in the house.

Celie is the main character. The book starts when she is only fourteen years old. She has two children, Olivia and Adam. Celie also has a husband Albert whom she refers to as Mr. ______ for most of the novel.

The color purple is about this girl named celie and she lived with her dad and he use to rape her and she gets married to a guy named albert and she calles him Mr._____. I dont know why tho. Alber was going to marrie her sister Nettie but she told him that she wanted him to marrie her and not Nettie. she didnt want albert to marrie Netti because she wants her to finish school because she said that Nittie is smart.
